Our principal investigator, Dr. Wen, invited researchers from Southeast Asia who specialize in public health, biostatistics and epidemiology of infectious diseases, and organized a consultative meeting of international dengue research. We had five international participants including the chair of Master of Public Health Program from Mahidol University, Dr. Mathuros Tipayamongkholgul, the chair of Department of Parasitology of University of the Philippines Manila, Dr. Myra Mistica, and the other three professors, Dr. Jiraphan Junjhon, Dr. Evalyn Roxas and Dr. John Robert Carabeo Medina, from colleges of public health in Mahidol University and University of the Philippines Manila. Four co-PIs, Dr. Ting-Wu Chuang, Dr. Pei-Fun Kuo, Dr. Chiao-Ling Kuo and Dr. Ming-Che Hu, and other research team members also attended the meeting and shared their research schemes and study results. In the end of the meeting, we were happy and ready to build up a collaboration platform for monitoring global dengue risk with scholars from different countries and research backgrounds. The collaboration research will start with characterizing epidemic patterns of dengue and making cross-nation comparisons of the four countries including Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Taiwan. Our next online group meeting with the international collaborators is scheduled in April 2020 to share our research results.
