To encourage Taiwanese researchers to break through research limits, in 2019, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Taiwan has promoted the Shackleton Program to support outstanding research scholars and their teams to work on breakthrough researches with their great vision and strong leadership. On 13 and 14 August 2019, MOST invited the selected research teams from the Shackleton Program to participate in the international cross-disciplinary research exchange meeting and share research proposals. In the meeting, Dr. Wen proposed the iGEAR project – to build up an early warning framework for the international spread of infectious diseases, and received many constructive comments that could push this project forward.
